Billions of eyes doesn't present a move in a new direction or anything (I mean, who doesn't love nice guitar based alt indie), but it is some much awaited new material.
If like me, you spend a lot of time failing at life, particularly catching public transport links, this song is about to become your anthem.
Award winning producer Emile Haynie has been drip-feeding us singles from his (no doubt) brilliant debut, We fall.
The latest of which is the beautiful Come find me, featuring Lykke Li (of Lykke Li) and Romy Madley Croft (of The xx).
You can hear Emile's experience with Lana Del Ray (another collaborator on the album) in the smokey moodiness of this track, nicely accented by Romy's iconic guitar chords.
It's nice to have a producer album to get (very, very) excited about in the indie realm.
Torres is a songstress from Nashville whose: - first name isn't Fernando, - tumblr blog is pretty cool, if you like that sorta thing, - self titled debut album is a display of great musical talent and a sure fire warning flare of genius to come. Torres is one of those artists you just know is going to grow to be something really and truly special. For now, we must make do with her beautiful debut - I especially love Honey and Moon & Black.
Grimes used to sing for everyone's favourite Montreal based indie-pop trio. The results are pretty chill, lovely and on constant repeat in my room. Come to the dark (and when I say dark, I mean brilliant) side. You can download, and eventually click play via Arbutus Records.
