Petite noir - The king of anxiety

Protégé to the world's premiere Jason Schwartzman look-alike, Foals' Yannis Philippakis, South African Petite noir has been making waves with his African take on post-punk electronica in his EP The king of anxiety.

The Foals inspiration is evident in the vocals of Til we ghosts and shadows. Come inside is an intoxicating marriage between Gorillaz' Dirty Harry and Tinariwen's flavour of soul (perhaps due to the African connection).

With the repetition of lyrics like "I'm not original" Petite noir's music is bound to resonate with the self-aware among us.
